Taiwan Central Epidemic Command Center Commander and Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shizhong announced in the afternoon (March 17). 19 countries including Singapore and Japan, Moldova, Eastern Europe, and Washington, U.S.A. have been raised to third-level warnings, calling on people to avoid visiting these countries unnecessarily.
At the same time, controls on foreign entry into Taiwan are also adopted. The original visa exemptions have been cancelled. Those with special reasons can only enter Taiwan if they agree with the foreign museum, but they still have to stay at home for 14 days.
The Command Center announced in the afternoon that 23 new cases were added today, all of which were infected by participating tour groups outside the country. Therefore, in addition to the previously announced mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea and the Middle East, Central Asia and other countries, Asia Tourism outbreaks in 19 countries, Moldova in Eastern Europe, and Washington, New York, and California in the United States have risen to Level 3 warnings.
The 19 Asian countries include Japan, Singapore, North Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, East Timor, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India and Maldives.
